Healthy Habits To Start In June 2022
Hey It-Girls, are you feeling the new month, new me vibes yet? Well you're about to since this blog post is all about fresh starts and healthy habits (out with the old, in with the new, goodbye clouds of grey... you know the rest)! Summer is closer than ever and it's time for us to officially get our sparkle and personality back. While summer is most definitely the time to indulge in good weather, good food and good company, it's also the perfect time to renew those vows you set with yourself... You know...the ones you made at the start of the year that you've conveniently allowed to fade into a distant dream. If you're looking for a sign to get back on track with those goals, this is it: here are my healthy habits to start in June 2022!
1. Try out a new form of exercise

If you're growing bored of your current workout routine, this month is the perfect time to try something new! Swap your treadmill cardio for an upbeat dance class or get outside for a daily nature walk. Looking to tone up for summer? Pilates is having a major comeback so there's no better time to ditch the sweaty weights room, grab a friend and try a class. I've recently started doing ballet inspired workouts, and it's safe to say I'm obsessed! Not only is it challenging with major results but my inner child has never been happier; tapping into playtime by channelling my inner ballerina - little me would be proud!
2. Re-connect with your cycle
Hormonal wellness is such an important part of womanhood yet our cycles are something many of us feel so disconnected from. I've spent most of my young adult life being frustrated by the seemingly complicated ups and downs of my menstrual and reproductive health but something about turning 25 has made me want to finally take control of it all. There's so many fantastic resources out there to get educated on how to work with your cycle (and not against it) for better productivity, less severe symptoms and better overall wellbeing. If you're not sure where to start, here's a few things I'm doing to reconnect with my moon time:
Booking my cervical screening test (available for free in the UK once you turn 25)
Using an app to track the phases of my cycle - I use Flo
Drinking teas and drinks that are said to improve menstrual health e.g. raspberry leaf tea (do your own research before trying this - especially if you have any underlying menstrual issues/you're pregnant etc). I also recently purchased from Period; a soothing cocoa-based drink with turmeric, black pepper, reishi, magnesium, potassium & iron to combat inflammation, reduce fatigue and more! Stay tuned for my full review!
Switching to organic menstrual brands such as TOTM
I've been using TOTM for years and absolutely love how comfortable their products are (not to mention being eco-friendly and plastic free!) What I love most about TOTM is that they offer an easy, super flexible subscription service customised to your cycle and monthly needs so you get your packs exactly when you need them (no surprises!) What's more, despite it being a subscription service, you don't get charged a monthly fee meaning you only pay when you need a new pack sent out. Want to try them out for yourself? Click here to get £5 off your first subscription order!
3. Reset your space

Despite what it may look like outside right now, summer is here and it's time for a reset. Open the windows and let some fresh air in. Invest in some air purifying house plants. Clean out the clutter and clear the dust away. Having a clean, decluttered space can help free up your mental giving you greater clarity and peace of mind. You can also spruce up your space and breathe new life into your environment with some fresh candles and flowers or find a new home in your room for your crystals and vision board. Create the perfect space to tap into your spiritual health and manifest your dream summer.
4. Switch up your meal rotation

Cooking the same meals over and over again can feel incredibly dull but a new season brings with it new flavours, new produce and new ideas! Get creative and challenge yourself to cook something different this month. When it comes to new recipes, Pinterest is definitely one of my faves, especially when I have ingredients but no idea how to put them together. And for those times where I'm looking for something a little more spontaneous, HelloFresh is an absolute godsend! HelloFresh is another fantastic subscription service that offers fresh, pre-portioned ingredients and delicious versatile recipes to suit every diet and lifestyle. With a new menu every week, you are always spoilt for choice and I love that you can save the recipes to remake them again! Similarly to TOTM, with this subscription you can pause or skip anytime which is perfect for weeks where you'll be away on holiday (or just looking to save some cash)! If you've heard of HelloFresh before but still never tried it for yourself, now is the perfect time with £47 off your first 3 boxes!
