20 Summer Bucket List Ideas To Romanticise Your Life in 2022 (Part 1)
As the days get longer and the weather gets warmer, that nostalgic, dreamy feeling of summer is well and truly here. Yet despite how much time I spend dreaming of summer, when it finally comes around, I either find myself stuck in the same routine or dealing with major FOMO from having nothing planned and nowhere to go. But I feel like summer is that time of year where life is meant to feel like a movie, where anything feels possible from finding a whirlwind romance on vacation, to creating montage-worthy memories with your closest friends. We've had to deal with two super difficult years and with the way the world is going these days, having something positive and wholesome to look forward to feels like a necessary antidote to the chaos. While of course we can't be ignorant or oblivious to the detrimental events happening around us, I think that being able to show gratitude and appreciation for the moments of beauty, joy and clarity in our lives is one way we can truly maintain our inner peace and stop ourselves from spiralling. If you're determined to make the most of your summer this year (like I am), I've got the ultimate summer bucket list to help you romanticise your life this season!
1. Watch a sunset

Okay so this one is a must for obvious reasons. Watching the sunset is an instant mood booster, guaranteed to make your heart feel fuller and more open to love, joy and endless possibilities. It's practically impossible to feel bad while basking in that golden hour sunlight.
2. Visit the beach

The sound of waves crashing ahead of you, walking barefoot on the shore; the beach is the perfect place to soak up the energising sun rays, reflect and flow with the water ground yourself in one of nature's most beautiful places.
3. Go on a road trip

Grab your friends, some snacks, a fire playlist for the car and just drive. Wherever your destination, a road trip is a great reminder that it's all about the journey, the sights and pit stops on your path and the memories you make along the way.
4. Wine & cheese night

If you're looking for an excuse to choose indulgence this summer; this is it! Grab your fancy glasses, invite your friends over and spend the evening putting together your best cheese board arrangements while you enjoy a smooth sip of your favourite summer red or sparkling rose.
5. Host a themed dinner party

Channel your inner host/hostess and throw a fun and quirky dinner party that your friends will love! Choose a theme that inspires your creativity from your favourite film or TV show to your dream travel destination or historic era; you can make everyone dress up, bring a dish and their favourite party game for a night to remember.
6. Have a picnic in the park

Some summer days are just meant for lounging and grazing; the perfect time for a picnic in the park! Go with friends or spend the day by yourself with your favourite summer foods, a good book and a comfy blanket for some wholesome time in the sun.
7. Make a soundtrack to your summer
In my blog post on How To Embody Main Character Energy, I spoke about the magical energy of creating a soundtrack to your life and this is one of the best ways you can set the tone for the type of summer you want. From basking in nostalgia with indie pop classics to fun-filled party vibes with upbeat chart toppers; the right music will help you make every memory more special than the last!
8. Sunrise yoga

With all the events, vacations and days out you'll have planned, it's essential to take some time to go inward. Starting your mornings with some intentional quiet time on the mat is the perfect way to embrace some stillness and get some movement in before the festivities begin!
9. Go to a drive-in movie theatre
I don't know about you, but when the skies are bright and the sun is shining, the last thing I want to do is be stuck inside a sticky, dark cinema. So why not switch it up and find a local drive-in theatre to go to instead! It's a great date night activity and you might even get to catch the sunset while you enjoy a classic film with good company (and snacks of course)!
10. Try your hand at baking

For those sunny weekend afternoons where you've got nowhere to be and not much to do, baking is a fun (and delicious) way to pass the time! Put on your favourite podcast and indulge in some you time in the kitchen or get your friends and family in on the action too! Homemade cookies always make a good day even better.
